After careful consideration, district administrators have decided that middle school students can return to a four-day, in-person learning schedule on Monday, March 8.

That means Southport Middle and Perry Meridian middle students will receive in-person instruction in the classroom on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, as long as the COVID-19 positivity rate allows. On Wednesday, students will log-in to online learning.  Students who do not return to in-person classes will receive remote learning Monday through Friday on the same schedule that classroom instruction occurs. NOTE: The hybrid schedule (two days of in-person + 3 days of online learning) is no longer an option.

If your middle school student plans to switch to in-person learning, please contact your child’s school by Monday, March 1.

According to guidance from the Marion County Public Health Department, elementary and middle school students may resume in-person learning, while high schools must remain hybrid.

Please remember that if your child or anyone in your home is awaiting COVID-19 test results, the student should stay home until test results are received. If your student is displaying possible symptoms, please do not send them to school.

Please contact your child’s school if you have any questions.

Safety is our top priority. Thank you for supporting Perry Township Schools.
