Students and their parents are invited to journey to the school to see the classrooms and meet the staff that are working with the students.


United Way Campaign

September 2017

United WayPerry Township teachers and staff are encouraged to work together and donate to the United Way of Central Indiana. The funds go toward a variety of different organizations and programs. Representatives from the District’s different schools and programs met with United Way representatives to get materials and information to share with their staff.


Health Fair & Family Forum

Last Saturday of September 2017

The Family Forum is part of the Coach Hathaway Running South event sponsored by the Perry Township Education Foundation. The forum and health fair will be located in the SHS Gymnasium. There will be vendors representing different organizations and service groups who serve the Perry Township and Perry North communities. There will be something for everyone at this event. If you’re a runner, there are several run length options for you. Kids 12 and under can participate in the 1/4 mile kiddie romp with mascots. Whether you want to participate in the run, or just gather information on services in your area, we look forward to seeing you there.


Anti-Bullying Week

October 2017

Students and staff are encouraged to show their support and help stop bullying.

Schools have activities and special dress days to show their support for anti-bullying programs.

District Orange Day

Students and staff are encouraged to wear orange to show their support to stop bullying.


District Holiday Card Selection

Fall 2017

Elementary students across the district are encouraged to show their artistic talents in this annual contest.

One students submission is chosen to be the official holiday card for the district and the student is recognized by the school board.

Congratulations to James Allen, a 5th Grade student at Clinton Young Elementary School. His design was selected to be the front of the District Holiday Card for the 2016 -17 school year.


Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Celebration

2017 Theme – “The Strength To Love! Tough Minds, Tender Heart!”

January 2018

This program celebrates the life and message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the turbulent beginnings of the Civil Rights movement. Students across the district are provided a theme and encouraged to use their talents to portray their vision of Dr. King’s message. Winning entries from each of the schools are acknowledged during this celebration, held after the January school board meeting in the Perry Township Education Center, 6548 Orinoco Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227.

Humanitarian Awards Banquet

May 2018

Perry Township’s Department of Student Services will host a district wide Humanitarian Awards Banquet at the Perry Township Education Center. Perry schools are invited to nominate an adult and a student from their school who exemplifies a pattern of positive human relations as it relates to diversity, care and concern for others, the betterment of humanity and improvement to the quality of life.

The goal is to recognize an adult and student from each school who strives for excellence in the daily tasks, shows commitment to all children, knows working together works, demonstrates respect for all by doing the best job every day and an ability to interact with people of different cultures.

The award recipients and their nominators will receive an invitation to attend the Awards Banquet.

Alternative Education “One Step Closer” Program

May 2018

Perry Pathways to Excellence will host their annual One Step Closer Program in May at the Perry Township Education Center. This program acknowledges those students who have attended the PPE Program and are on track to complete their credits and graduate from high school this May. These students come from both Perry Meridian High School and Southport High School. This program allows the students and their families to celebrate with the PPE staff the wonderful accomplishments they have achieved.


Perry Township Summer “Learn to Swim” Program

Summer 2018

The Perry Township Summer Swim Program conducts “learn to swim” Red Cross classes for students from age 3 on up. Summer Swim 2017 was held at Perry Meridian High School.

Two 2-week sessions are usually offered during summer. Each class meets for 50 minutes Monday through Friday for a two-week session. An evening session in usually offered between each session. The cost is $60.00 per child, except the Parent/Tot class (ages 6 mos.- 36 mos.) is $55 and is offered for 30 minutes.

This is a great opportunity for your children to get comfortable with water and learn swim strokes.
