Perry Meridian High School and Perry Township Schools is excited to celebrate Jordyn Sloan. Sloan was among 20 high school seniors honored with an Abe Lincoln Award by the Kiwanis Club of Indianapolis.

During theĀ 44th annual program, 20 high school students were recognized for overcoming physical, emotional, and environmental adversity. Jordyn accepted a $16,000 scholarship that will allow her to pursue her college dreams — an incredible feat because she endured homelessness following her father’s fatal crash and her mother’s drug addiction.

Since its inception in 1976, the Abe Lincoln Scholarship program has awarded more than $1.1 million.
