Dear Falcon Families

I want to congratulate our graduates and their families on this auspicious occasion, the graduation of the Class of 2020 from Perry Meridian High School. Our Virtual Commencement Ceremony will be made available on Thursday, May 21st. On Saturday, May 23rd, we will be holding the Class of 2020 Celebration and awarding this outstanding class their diplomas.

Commencement is a formal ceremony of the Perry Township Board of Education to recognize our graduating seniors. This year our seniors have had to sacrifice many special memories because of this crippling pandemic.  To honor the fortitude of this class, supported by the Perry Township Board of Education, Perry Meridian High School will be conducting a unique celebration in true Perry Meridian fashion.

A link will be sent out the afternoon of May 21st to view our Virtual Commencement Ceremony.  This can be shared with your family members and friends.  This will follow the same order as the original commencement ceremony.  Each graduate will be recognized with a slide of his/her senior photograph, and each name will be read.  Have a watch party with your family, dress in your cap/gown, and celebrate this wonderful accomplishment!

On May 23rd, students will be able to come back to PMHS and receive their diplomas.  Students will exit their vehicle, walk across the stage and receive their diploma. Parents will need to stay in their vehicle, but the stage will be easily visible for a picture. Each senior family will only be permitted one vehicle in this receiving line. We will also have a professional photographer available who will take pictures during this process will make these available as in years past.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we must adapt and adhere to specific  health and safety guidelines. Again, we believe this provides our graduates with the well-deserved opportunity to participate in a ceremony while following Health Department stipulations that will keep our families and staff safe during the process.

We are looking forward to recognizing the accomplishments of the Class of 2020 on May 21, 2020 at our Virtual Commencement  and our Class of 2020 Celebration on  May 23, 2020.  I am personally looking forward to handing our graduates their diplomas.  Let’s make this another great event Perry Meridian.
