First graders in Ashton Cantou’s classroom  at Homecroft Elementary evaluated the conditions of their local communities. Together they developed ways to improve their communities, creating advocacy for change posters. Collectively, they wrote a book of action steps that they can begin to carry out at home, in their classroom, their school, and larger communities to make them better. Even first graders can make a difference!
