Students in Mrs. Barton’s class at Winchester Village have been learning about fairy tale characters, traits, and essential vocabulary to help them to comprehend what they are reading. Inter-meshing a cluster strategy with vocabulary and six of the fairy tale words, Mrs. Barton engaged students in a post it game where students had to ask questions related to their words such as synonyms, antonyms, parts of speech, and rhyming words before making a prediction about what the word might be. Both students and teacher felt the activity was highly motivating and one they would like to use again in the near future!
