It has been a terrific 2015-2016 school year for the Music Department at Perry Meridian High School.  Pictured are some of the awards the department received.  Here are the highlights from the year.

¯ 12 music groups, made up of the band, choir, and orchestra, participated in ISSMA contests with 11 of those groups receiving a Gold Rating, and 5 of receiving a “With Distinction” rating from ISSMA.

¯ The Music Department had 73 events receive Gold Ratings at ISSMA Solo & Ensemble District Level

¯ The Music Department had 44 events receive Gold Ratings at ISSMA Solo & Ensemble State Level

¯ Then & Now Choir won 2nd runner-up Concert Choir at the Franklin Central HS competition

¯ The Marching Falcons received 1st place in their class at the Ben Davis HS competition.

¯ Five singers were selected for the 2016 Indiana All-State Choir: Claire Finke, Zachary Hoover, Alex Rozzell, Xavier Sayeed, and Jenna Sears.

¯ Two band members were selected for the 2016 Indiana All-State Band: Luke Greenwood and William Mocco.

¯ 2015 University of Indianapolis’s Young Artist Award Competition:

Adrian Daeger—2nd place, Jenna Sears—3rd place, Claire Finke—Finalist

¯ The Perry Meridian Winter Drumline was a State Finalist in IPA and finished 4th in Open Class.

¯ The Marching Falcons were State Finalist in the ISSMA Scholastic Class.

¯ Perry Meridian HS Band Program received the ISSMA All-Band Award for the second year in a row.

¯ Perry Meridian HS Choir Program received the ISSMA All-Choir Award for the fifth year in a row.
