I have been in Perry Township since 1996 and have an undergraduate and graduate degree from Indiana University and an Administrator’s license from University of Indianapolis. I’ve been a principal of the preschool since 2011. I’ve taught 1st and 2nd grade, Adult GED classes, worked as a media specialist, technology staff developer, and as a district supervisor for media and intervention programs. This year I will be an adjunct instructor at Marian University. I have three grown children, Jack, Abby, and Caroline, who I love spending time with. I enjoy traveling, reading, hiking, and spending time with my family, friends, and Izzy. I’m very proud to be a part of this wonderful program and honored to lead this dedicated and talented staff.
My real name is Israel and my friends call me Izzy. I had a career change from the Leader Dog for the Blind program and am a facility dog for the Preschool. I was trained in the Women’s Prison through the Indiana Canine Assistant Network. I know lots of commands but I’m best at being friends with everyone in the preschool. I love coming to work every day with my friend, Ms. Holtzman and spending time with all my preschool friends.
I joined the Staff at The Early Childhood Academy in January 2019 as the new Secretary. However, I am no stranger to it. As I had the pleasure of substituting for a maternity leave in August of 2018 for three months. I really enjoy working side-by-side with an amazing staff/team here at PTEC. They are like family. Outside of work, I like spending time with my family and friends. As I am really big on family time. As I have three children. Two boys and one girl. I have six grandchildren, 3 boys and 3 girls. I have two Associate degrees. One from Ivy Tech in Business Management – Administrative. And one from Purdue University in Business Management – Accounting. I have had the opportunity to work with children prior to accepting the position as the ECA Secretary and it has allowed me to fit right in. My hobbies are poetry, shopping, and traveling with family.
