SEL stands for social and emotional learning! It is the process through which children and adults learn to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
Did you know at Clinton Young we start our day with Second Steps, a program to teach and build SEL skills? We also watch a weekly video on Monday mornings from Mrs. Mosely about mindfulness, and have incorporated calming corners in our classrooms. These are just a few of the ways Clinton Young is helping students and staff learn the importance of SEL!
