Recently, PMMS students attended workshops at the Indiana State Library and the Indiana Historical Society to expand their research knowledge and skills of R.O.A.D. — research, observe, analyze and discover. Through this research experience, students are examining themselves, their families, primary sources, and history to better understand themselves and their family history.
Using these new skills, nearly 400 Perry Meridian Middle students are participating in a semester long research project, The R.O.A.D. I Travel. This is a collaborative effort among the 8th grade Language Arts teachers and the school media specialist at PMMS. A community event on April 30th will feature the students’ final projects.
