Southport High School is participating in the GK-12 program.  A scientist visits the PLTW classroom twice a week.  Luis Palacio, a Physics PhD student at IUPUI, designed an activity for the Introduction to Engineering class in which the students proposed an improvement to an existing product.  One student, a sophomore, designed a combination smartphone-watch.  This project was completed last semester.

Apple and other companies recently revealed their intention to produce and market combination smartphone-watches.  This photo shows the student’s work (left) with the potential Apple product (right).  Project Lead the Way students at SHS are truly at the cutting edge.
