With a GPA of 4.56 Delaney Bucker ranks first out of 444 students in Southport’s Class of 2016. Perry Township Schools is delighted to recognize Delaney as Valedictorian of Southport High School.
Delaney is the daughter of Becky Brehob Bucker and Joe Bucker. She’s a remarkable young lady who excels in all facets of her life. She’s attended Perry Township Schools since beginning kindergarten at Mary Bryan Elementary. She grew up near Mary Bryan in the Richmond Hills subdivision. Delaney has always been a strong charismatic leader in and out of the classroom. She is an accomplished triathlete and scholar and she has committed to continue working hard, in both areas, as a student at Arizona State University where she will study Biology. She is also captain of the swimming, cross country and track teams. Delaney has been awarded the distinguished AP scholar with Honors, a perfect score on AP Calculus AB exam, and maintained an A honor roll status through many of her own personal challenges. Delaney is the president of National Honor Society, worked on the school newspaper, and maintained part-time employment. She has dedicated much of her free time to help children with disabilities and to work on various community service projects. Delaney is an incomparable young lady who shows strength in her character and conviction to her school, sports, philanthropy, and most importantly her family.
