Mrs. Amanda Schnepp’s Honors Biology classes at Southport High School finished the school year with “A Blast from the Past!” Students studied sediment layers from the Green River Formation in Wyoming and then excavated fish fossils buried under the rock. Then they meticulously scratched away at the layers of sediment to reveal their fish that lived about 55 million years ago! PTEF funded a grant for this engaging, hands-on experience for the students.
