During their polar animal unit, students in Room 18 at GV were measured to see if they were “taller than a penguin”. The Emperor penguin is 48 inches tall, and a life size model was used. They took pictures and compared our measurements, using greater then, less than and equal, to the penguin. Students also learned about the different types of penguins in small groups and each child shared a fact about their penguin with the class. Students also crafted their own penguins. It was a really ‘cool’ project!
