Students in Mr. Sheppard’s fifth grade class at Jeremiah Gray Elementary explore the new Vex IQ Robotics kits in their Project Lead the Way (PLTW) class. They are building models of toys that they designed, as a way to become familiar with the pieces in the kit. Next they will learn about how to use the robot “brain,” controllers, and sensors. Finally, they will build a robot that can remove hazardous waste from an environment that they design.
