At the start of the school year, 4th and 5th graders at Burkhart Elementary were challenged to read 50 books by the end of the school year.  To conquer the Burkhart 50 Book Challenge, students had to read all twenty of the current intermediate-level Young Hoosier Books and thirty additional Young Hoosier Books or Newbery Award books.  Six 4th grade students met or exceeded this goal and were treated to a bowling party to celebrate this accomplishment.  Congratulations to these students: Bawi Zing, Lindsey Kim, Matthew Patterson, Dagan Knight, Josiah Hartman, and Cooper Hutson.
