Second grade students in Mrs. Corrie Callahan’s class at ALE recently completed state reports as part of their second grade research project. The students first researched their assigned states, then wrote persuasive articles urging others to visit these states. With the help of Mrs. Callahan, each student received the chance to record a “commercial” about his/her state. The classroom was transformed into an airplane! As students and special guests entered, they took their seats, received an on-board snack, and sat back to enjoy a “cross country flight” during which they got to view their classmates’ state commercials. Passengers on Callahan Flight 2015 even enjoyed a free mid-flight movie starring super heroes who bore a close resemblance to many of their teachers and administrators! It was surely a fun and educational experience for all!
