A rainy fundraiser on Saturday; a car wash to support the Southport High School marching Cardinals brought in more than $2000 dollars to help the band. Saturday was actually the “rain date” from the originally planned date for the car wash fundraiser.  It turned out to be quite rainy for the first 2 hours of the wash but that did not stop the customers from coming by.  Several cars come through for a wash and many simply stopped by with monetary donations.  Those donations totaled over $1100 dollars. In addition, Ray Skillman donated $500 to support the band.  The kids had a blast and the rain did not dampen their car-washing efforts.  We would like to thank all that stopped by to help support the Marching Cardinals.

Please see below for the totals raised in all areas of fundraising:

$1140 raised from ticket sales, not all of which has been turned in at this time.

$340 was raised from drive up washes, $32 donation from Kona Ice Sales and general donations that day.

$83 was raised from parent purchases of buttons and/or window decals.

$500 donation from Ray Skillman GMC was received.

Grand total of $2063.00!
