The Friday before break, Kindergarten students at Abraham Lincoln Elementary had a camp out day in the classroom. They sat by a ‘fire,’ read under tents, made binoculars and lanterns and participated in tons of fun camping activities. The theme lasted all day so students incorporated it into each subject area. During reading, they did an ABC camping book and read in their tents. In math they did camping number stories and camping graphs. They wrote about going camping during writing time.
