The Mustang Speech Team achieved its highest finish in nine years by capturing second place at Cathedral High School’s Martin Luther King Invitational Meet.
Securing first place finishes for the Mustangs were: Cara Geoghagan in Prose, Moses Mang in Radio,Lainey Scifres took first in poetry, as did Maggie Sears in Discussion, Daisy Robles took the top spot in Original Oratory.
Also in Poetry, Elise Houke placed 8th.
Mustangs took the top three spots in Radio with Evan Eells taking second and Sasha Sears third.
Rachel Harper placed second in humor, as did Kate Rogers in the Martin Luther King Event.
Kate also was second in prose.
In Discussion, Sam Hoke was 7th with Timothy Trobridge 9th.
Drama saw Ava Ward place third.
The Duo of Piper Clark & Farrell Jackson placed 2nd, Grant Christian and Sean Smith teamed up to finish.
4th. Lainey Scifres and Meredith Cash took 5th with the team of Diana Pyle and Alexis Ellis coming in 7th.
Impromptu Speaking saw Meredith Cash take 2nd, Nun Za Lian had his best finish in 3rd, with Jazmin Roembke taking 7th.
In Original Oratory, Robby Simms was 4th, Charity Merrill 7th, Allyson Haver 8th and Gillian Heizman 9th.
