Kindergarten students at Glenn’s Valley are learning about author and illustrator Leo Lionni. Mr. Lionni created over 40 children’s books, using collages for his illustrations. Each kindergarten student is currently creating their own collage after reading A Color of His Own by Leo Lionni. Mrs. Rissel is teaching the students about using the elements of art: line, shape and color to create their compositions. Each student will use crayons to create patterns using the elements of art. After adding their patterns they will add watercolor to fill in the background. Stay tuned to see their colorful compositions!
