Students at Douglas MacArthur Elementary School completed a week long study of disability awareness entitled, “Dare to Dream”. Activities in art, music, physical education, and computer lab were centered around this theme. On the final day, students met in the gym during their special class time. As a group, they shared what they had learned, viewed a video on disabilities, and sang a song about disabilities. In addition, “Charlene’s Angels”, a group of young adults with developmental disabilities, spent the morning at the school with 4th and 5th grade classes. The Spotlight Singers performed for the group.
