The Cat in the Hat (aka Ms. Kellie Cook) visited Douglas MacArthur to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The celebration carried over into the kindergarten classrooms. Each kindergarten teacher read a different Dr. Seuss book to their class and the students then participated in a story-related activity.
In Mrs. Sandy Pietras’ room, the story My Many Colored Days was read and the students completed a coloring activity.
In Mrs. Samantha Smith’s room, Green Eggs and Ham was read and the class made and ate green eggs and ham.
Mrs. Dana Fuhrmann read If I owned a Zoo and the students made an animal in a “cage”.
Mrs. Stacy Reinke read The Cat in the Hat and the students followed directions to draw The Cat in the Hat.
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go. – Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut
