Fourth graders at HB learned about how the government was split into three branches so one branch doesn’t become too powerful. Then, the students worked in groups to create a “Government Tree.” For this task, each group was given a set of leaves containing facts about one of the branches of government – executive, legislative, and judicial. The students then had to use their Social Studies book to help them classify the fact onto the correct branch. The end result was a “Government Tree!”
