Fourth grader students at Burkhart Elementary School investigated the transfer of heat. A cup of very warm water was placed inside a cup of ice cold water, and thermometers were placed in both cups. The students monitored the temperatures of each cup for ten minutes as the heat transferred from the warm to the cold water, eventually ending up equal.
