Leslie Preddy, Perry Meridian Middle School Media Specialist, has been elected as the 2015-2016 American Association of School Librarians (AASL) president. She will serve as president-elect during 2014-2015 under AASL President, Terri Grief.

Upon learning of her election, Mrs. Preddy stated: “It is a privilege and an honor to be elected to represent my colleagues and their students as president-elect of the American Association of School Librarians. I look forward to working to help support all they do each day in their school libraries!”

The American Association of School Librarians, www.aasl.org, a division of the American Library Association (ALA), promotes the improvement and extension of library services in elementary and secondary schools as a means of strengthening the total education program. Its mission is to advocate excellence, facilitate change and develop leaders in the school library field.
