At JGE, Mrs. Goss and Mrs. Pietranczyk used Maypole dances to teach musical form. Students learned that music is divided into sections, some of which are the same musical material and others that are different. Students’ movements were based on the musical sections, so that they did the same dance movements when like music returned throughout the dance piece.
