The students in Mrs. Lewis’ kindergarten class at Mary Bryan Elementary wrote Christmas cards to recovering soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C.  Students wrote well-wishes to the soldiers, signed the cards and also addressed and stamped the envelopes to ensure delivery to the soldiers.  The postage was paid by the students.  They were encouraged to do chores at home to earn change to pay for the stamps to send the cards to the soldiers.

The children walked their cards to the office and placed them in the school’s mail box so they may be delivered to the soldiers. The kindergartners are so excited that their Christmas cards are going to REAL soldiers and to spread holiday cheer to their heroes!
