The PMMS Jazz Band competed in the Indiana State School Music Association Jazz competition on Friday, March 4 at Whiteland HS.

The two day event brings together the top groups in instrumental and vocal jazz from across Central Indiana.  The groups perform in front of top jazz educators using a rubric where 11 is a perfect score, with a “1” in each category being the best possible.  The band’s total score was a “39.5”, 6.5 points off a perfect score.  In addition, the Jazz Band competed in Group I, which is the most difficult level for Middle School/Jr. High groups.  They were the only MS/JH Group 1 band of the 53 bands that competed.

Congratulations to the Perry Meridian Middle School Jazz Band on an outstanding performance.

Whiteland HS provided a video of the performance.  It is posted as an unlisted post on YouTube.  Here is the link:  https://youtu.be/ZEJA-60FAbQ
