Valedictorian, April Gettelfinger tops the PMHS class of 2016 with a 4.5480 GPA. Teachers and administrators say Gettelfinger extended herself constantly throughout her years at Perry, pursuing the two facets she loves most: service and the arts. She is currently vice president of National Honor Society, a well-known actress on the Perry stage, a long-term member of Creative Writing Club, a Kiwanis (Key) Club one-time president and two-time lieutenant governor, and Managing Editor of the FOCUS. “What I do after school is my greatest motivation,” she said. “My extracurricular activities added significance and memorability to my school life.”
Gettelfinger will attend the University of Evansville next fall to study in a pre-med program with a focus on biology. Her dream is to become a rheumatologist through the Indiana University School of medicine. For underclassmen, Gettelfinger firmly believes that high school is best experienced when one’s heart and soul are into the full scope of the experience, for better or for worse. Her fondest high school memory will be Mr. Falcon. She says she will miss the “the Perry Bubble,” a student community she described as talented and generous.
Perry Township Schools wishes April all the best with her future endeavors.
