On Friday, November 6, the students and staff at Douglas MacArthur gathered together to honor the veterans of the United States Armed Forces.  The entire student body learned and sang songs under the direction of Mrs. McAllister, DMES music educator.  Student council members led the program with other students reciting special poems and letters about what veterans mean to them.  There was a presentation by the Greenwood Honor Guard about the American Flag and a rifle volley before a playing of TAPS.  The program ended with a slideshow featuring relatives of DMES students and staff who have served in the United States Armed Forces.  The entire program was a powerful reminder about the sacrifices that our Armed Forces have made in order for us to be free.
