Perry Meridian 6th Grade Academy held a convocation in honor of Veteran’s day. Through the week, donations were collected and given to the Wounded Warrior Project. Steve Ruark, US Army 80-84, who is now is an air traffic controller for the Indianapolis Airport, shared his experience and words of inspiration with the students. Ruark and his wife, Teresa, are both graduates of PMHS and have had five children of their attend Perry Township Schools. Andrew Wilson, band director, performed Taps and The Star Spangled Banner, and the PMA choir sang in honor of our service men and women as well. Students exited the assembly in silence to give thanks and spend time thinking about our freedoms and the sacrifices that got us those freedoms.
