Mrs. Livesay’s second block class at Perry Meridian Sixth Grade Academy planned and hosted the first annual talent show to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients program. Entries were filmed and students voted to determine which act would represent each team of students. At the final talent show, the winning act from each team performed for the staff and students. Students voted, using penny donations, and crowned Kevin Pereira as the school talent show winner for his choreography to “Who Let the Dogs Out?”. In second place, John Joyce and Noah Pendleton impressed the audience with their instrumental performance of the Rocky theme (complete with mock boxing match during musical performance). The school raised a total of $719.84 for the Pennies for Patients campaign.
