Students and staff at Perry Meridian Middle School paid tribute to veterans and other public servants this week.

Seventh and eighth grade students honored well over 100 military veterans and police/fire personnel at a luncheon catered by Texas Roadhouse.

In Social Studies classes, students wrote about a veteran they were related to, or one from history.  These essays and photos were posted on a “Wall of Heroes” in the main hallway.

In addition, students saw PMMS principals, township teachers who are veterans, and student speakers on the morning announcements, discussing the origins and meaning of Veterans Day.   The program concluded with the PMMS band playing the anthems from the five branches of military service.
