About 50 Southport Middle 8th grade students started the PLACE (Practical Learning And Career Exploration) program at Central 9 Career Center. The PLACE program is a week long program where students shadow a high school student in the area of their choice for a week, experiencing the classroom and hands-on practice components of the program first-hand. Central 9 has an upcoming open house on Dec. 4th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend to learn more about any of the training areas at Central 9.
