The Perry Township Education Foundation honored some special volunteers at the November 9th school board meting. PTEF Executive Director, Hannah Dale recognized Perry Township staff members Jason Wiesmann, Event Chair Don Manning, School Involvement Coordinator Ben Danner, Food and Beverage Coordinator and Esther Moeller, Health Fair Coordinator for all of the hardwork, effort, and time they gave to the 5th Annual Coach Hathaway’s Running South. “Because of these individuals, the rest of our committee, the Perry Township Education Foundation board of directors, our event sponsors, including our presenting sponsor Franciscan St. Francis Health Sports Medicine Center, and over 150 volunteers, we were able to have a wonderful day celebrating Coach Hathaway’s legacy and raise over $16,000 for the Perry Township Education Foundation!”, stated Dale.
The money will go to help support creative learning grants for our Perry Township educators and students and allow us to grant a scholarship to one deserving student in Coach’s honor. In addition $250 dollars is being donated to Perry Meridian Middle School for the most participation out of the secondary schools along with $250 to Jeremiah Gray for the most participation at the elementary level. Dale thanked Wiesmann for charing the event saying like with everything he does, Jason gave his all to the event.
