Second grade students at Rosa Parks-Edison Elementary School participated in a bake-off. The children were invited to prepare a baked good at home with an adult and bring it to school. The purpose of the project was to involve students and families in real life use of measurement and math skills. Children who doubled or halved their recipe received an apron for taking on the extra challenge. All participants received awards however several special categories were recognized including “sweetest”, “most unexpected flavor” and most “chocolcious”.
