Each month, Southport 6th Grade Academy students and staff support a deserving charity through funds raised by wearing jeans.  This month SA chose to help Darin Ping, an adult with Down’s Syndrome, purchase a much needed hearing aide.  SA students and staff, along with a gracious donation from the Brian Freeman Memorial Foundation, raised all the necessary money needed to replace Darin’s current device.  On Monday, SA presented Darin with a ceremonial check in the amount of $900.  Thank you to all of the students and staff for their gracious contribution and huge hearts.
