Students in Mrs. Katrina Patterson’s kindergarten class carved a pumpkin today! First, they estimated how many cubes tall the pumpkin would be and then measured it as a group.  Next, they guessed how many seeds would be inside.  Each of the students reached in and pulled out a handful until the total reached 390!  Then, they talked about shapes and students chose what shape would be carved in the pumpkin. What a great sensory and math experience for the children!
