Second graders at Glenns Valley Elementary School have been learning basics about a market-based economy this semester. Students have opportunities to earn money and pay “living” expenses. One of the culminating activities of the mini economy is to be an entrepreneur. Each student and their business partner create and manage a business. There were many creative businesses this year: root beer floats, face painting, origami and slushies. Each second grader and GV staff had the opportunity to “shop” at the GV mall.
