AP Biology students from Southport High School took an overnight camping trip to Indiana Dunes, a hotspot for ecological research. Students toured and hiked in several unique ecosystems that resulted from glacier formation and recession of the last ice age including the beach and dunes of Lake Michigan and a bog. Students also participated in an environmental stewardship campaign where they removed invasive exotic plant species that can be detrimental to the plants and animals of the Dunes.
