130 students who are learning English, as a second language, were recognized at Southport High School Thursday after reaching Level 5 in the WIDA Access program. EL Director, Jane Pollard and Assistant Principal Amy Boone thanked the students for their hard work in achieving this very high goal of becoming fluent in English. Many of the students are proficient in 2 or more languages. Each student was given a certificate and a Level 5 T-Shirt and were treated to refreshments. Achieving Level 5 not only benefits the students but their school and school district as well. Congratulations students on a job well done!
