Southport High School’s physics students participated in their 2nd semester project with a trip to Kings Island. This day challenged students to apply problem-solving skills and integrate their knowledge of math and physics to analyze and unravel some of the mysteries of the attractions at the park by calculating energy, velocity, and g-forces…just to name a few.  In addition, students, who chose not to attend Kings Island, did an alternate project called The Egg Drop.  This project applied eggstensive physics knowledge to design and build a capsule to protected an egg during a freefall trip from the top of the bleachers at Perry Stadium.
