This May marked the 5th annual Southport Middle School “Metric 500” dragster race for 8th grade science students.  Over a 2 week time frame, teams of students from each science class designed and build a wooden car.  Finally, they had the opportunity to race their wooden cars propelled by carbon dioxide.
