Southport senior, Mang Khup Ling has been awarded the Gates Millennium Scholarship. He was recognized by the school board during its May meeting.

The Gates Millennium Scholarship includes full tuition, room and board and school supplies to any university in the United States. It’s funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to provide outstanding African American, American Indiana/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest. Mang Khup Ling plans to attend the University of Indianapolis to study Pre-Law.
