The preschool children in Mrs. Rebecca Hauber’s classroom at the Early Childhood Academy are studying colors. They discussed absorption and witnessed absorption first hand, using paper towels. The students placed yellow, blue, and red watercolors in individual cups. Next, they placed a paper towel and an empty cup connecting each color to make the colors mix. The class observed the process for a few days as the colored water traveled up the paper towel and down into the empty cup. As the two colors met in the empty cup, it created a new color. After all the mixing was done, they painted with the colors.
