PMHS students experienced their own version of Super Tuesday this week as they voted next year’s Student Voice officers into leadership positions on May 19th. Student Voice is a new group at PMHS this year, built from combining Student Council with the class officers. The mission of StuVo is to unite Perry Meridian through enthusiastic, informed communication in order to build school pride. Students in ninth-eleventh grade ran a campaign last week, participated in a “Town Hall” meeting on Twitter to share ideas about the school, and wrote speeches that were delivered live before voting took place. Student Voice members will be called upon a variety of capacities, most notably in communicating with administration and by being in charge of class competitions. In total, 36 students ran for office.
