Symmetry has taken a creative form in Mrs. Cummings’ second grade classroom at Winchester Village Elementary. After several lessons incorporating symmetrical shapes and objects, students engaged in creating and designing a symmetrical shape on their own! Students chose shapes that had at least one line of symmetry and created those shapes with beads and templates in the classroom. Students were asked by the teacher to show where the line or lines of symmetry were on their products. Each student was able to take away their creation in symmetry to share at home!
