Mrs. Marinda Grove’s first grade students at Abraham Lincoln Elementary have been working on adding descriptive and “WOW words” to their writing.  In anticipation of their upcoming Dr. Seuss celebration, they read The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins. Then the class brainstormed descriptive writing about Bart’s hat.  Next, the children used their creativity to decorate their own hats.  Later they wrote about their hats in an independent descriptive writing activity.
