In physical education class at DM, students have been learning about how the heart functions. The lesson includes running through the Heart Challenge Course. This is an obstacle course set up to represent the four chambers of the heart. The Douglas MacArthur course differs from those at other schools because Ms. Campbell has named the aortic valve after Mr. Tom Stahlhut (Mr. Stahlhut had a mechanical valve surgically implanted last year to replace a faulty bicuspid valve.) The children eagerly anticipate this activity every year!
